Day 8: Robben Island & Cape Town tour

The morning was pretty powerful with a visit out to Robben Island. We took a tour of the prison, led by a former prisoner himself, which made the whole thing much more personal. We toured the prison & saw where our guide was imprisoned as well as Mr. Mandela himself.  We took a bus tour of part of the island next.
We next met up with our bus driver who took us to lunch. We did a mini walking tour & toured Castle Cape Hope.
Garden walk , pit stop at the hotel, and we had the afternoon/evening free to explore the waterfront. Did some shopping. Kids chose to play on the slides & life sized chess board. Enjoyed a lovely day on the bay, grabbed some gelato & cabbed it back.
Phew...an impactful day!!
