Day 5: KRUGER!!!!!!

To say today was amazing would be the understatement of the century!! Waking up at 445am was worth it!! We got in the jeep with Louie, our game driver for the day and off we went in the dark. Freezing cold and glad Louie sealed the Jeep up, we headed toward Kruger. We wanted to get in early, hoping to catch the early risers or the late night partiers. It was pretty overcast...even got some spitty rain, but it was all worth it. We saw at least 20 different kinds of animals during the day...first ones were a herd of elephants!!! Highlights were the giraffes, zebras, elephants,  but the biggest find were the 2 lions and the lioness moving thru the grass towards the zebras...lunch time. We talked Louie into staying as long as we could, arriving late to lunch but we didn't care. We watched them cross the road, with the moon passing but feet away from our jeep. Needless to say, we were speechless. After lunch was the same drive back with no real new animals. No hippos or rhinos, but the most amazing day!!
We did a bush walk with Louie upon our return, and it started to rain while we were waiting for dinner...which I guess never happens in winter.
Best. Day. Ever.
Better pics on my camera so these are off my cell. Enjoy!!!
