Day 7: Au revoir Paris!

Today was our last day in grand ol Paris! We started out with a trip to the Louvre to see all our famous girls: Venus, Nike, & Mona. Kids had a photo challenge as to which group could come up with the most creative and which could do the best reenactment of a portrait. Myself and the other judges need to see all the pics before we determine a winner...so stay tuned!

We ate lunch at Galleries Lafayette on the 6th floor overlooking the city. I was 5 seconds away from grabbing the Eiffel Tower table and got beat out by a French lady... :(

Next up was Notre Dame - such an amazing church! I love sitting in there and listening to the music - wow... :) The above pic is taken outside of ND - it's the Zero Kilometer marker for the city of Paris. Since we're a big goup, we could only get 1 foot in. :)

We got some free time in the afternoon and took full advantage of our time. We metroed it up to the Arc de Triumphe and set the kid loose with their Euros on the Champs d'Elysees for a few hours. They came back, wallets a little emptier, and with big smiles on their faces!

After dinner, we quick headed towards the Hard Rock :) for souvenirs and other miscellaneous items. Some of the kids even grabbed some crepes...yummy!!

We then headed back to our hotel...quickly realizing it was our last metro ride we would be taking on this trip - and we were not sad about it really at all...more likie YIPPEE!! Riding the metro in Paris has been an adventure in-and-of itself...and that's the understatement of the century...nothing 'Leisurely' about it, that's for sure! We were quite relieved that we didn't lose anyone nor did anyone lose anything...and we are definitely missing the wide open personal space us Americans take for granted.

Tomorrow we're outta here, leaving behind the City of Lights and heading south to SWITZERLAND!! It's going to be a loooooooong day on the bus (10+ hrs) and we've heard the weather will not be ideal...but there may be luging involved on Mt Pilatus so we are hopeful!

Au revoir ~ steph :)
