We got to attend an official soccer game!!! Club Deportivo Dan played Deportivo Faucett from the Callao in the Interleagues Championship. This was first round of Pool Play and the boys won 5-0!!! It was sooo cool to be there in the stadium and watch these talented boys play. This is the soccer club that Daniel started years ago with 18 boys as a way to give these boys a place to go, something to do besides hanging out on the streets, joining gangs, selling drugs, etc.... All the boys have to sign a behavior contract to play on the team. Now, there are over 120 kids on 3 teams...great stuff! It was an honor & a privilege to be able to attend the match!
We headed back to Lima after the win and made a stop along the coast. This beach was all rocks - no sand...but lots of surfers out today!! Last stop of the day was at the mall and dinner at Papacho's...a delicious burger place! After an awesome meal, the girls shopped a bit and we headed back to the apartment for an early night. The girls spent the rest of the night prepping for our Sports Camps for the rest of the week.
