What a looooooong travel day we have had! Was a bit bumpy in & out of Denver. Our big 15 hr flight from LA to Sydney got a free stop-over in Fiji for refueling and stalling - guess it was a bit foggy in Sydney. So, our 3 hour lay-over in Sydney turned into 45 minutes...just enough time to transfer from one gate to another.

The kids were like kids at Christmas as they got headphones, menus for dinner, toothbrush/toothpaste - all sorts of freebies on our flight. We were soooo glad it was 2/3rd empty so we could all spread out and have a whole row to ourselves. We slept well.
Sadly, when we arrived in Auckland, NZ, Olivia & Courtney did not have luggage. They forgot to put it on in Sydney, so it's coming later tonight. Qantas gave them these lovely toiletry bags with super cool shirts & shorts. The girls were in good spirits about it.
Miss Olivia is the birthday queen today. She celebrated her 18th birthday in 3 different countries: Fiji, Australia AND New Zealand! The Qantas flight crew gave her some fun first class stuff, the kids signed a card for her and we got her a birthday cake!
Our hotel has great location - right in downtown Auckland. So after dinner, we heading down to the water just to walk around. In the background of our jumping pic is the Auckland tower which is basically across the street from our hotel.
Weather is great! Guess it was pouring before we got here, so we brought the sunshine with us. Kids don't seem to be affected by jetlag so that's good. :) They're having a blast and enjoying this mild 'winter' weather!!
Must get some sleep...Tomorrow we're off to Rotorua, geothermal pools, and a Maori feast!
